During the manufacturing-process of sheet-bulk metal forming, different stresses and deformations occur in the material. The prediction of such a forming process by using the forming limit diagram is not possible. To make a statement about the occurrence of damages and the remaining formability of the material a comprehensive investigation by electron microscopic in-situ and post situ analysis will be executed. The results are incorporated into a finite element analysis (FEA), which will afford a prediction of the remaining plasticity and the residual strength of the material. The mechanical investigation by the FEA allows to select an appropriate procedure for the production of deformed samples. Moreover the results of the microstructural analysis are included into the modeling of subproject C2 and thus allow an adjustment of the model to the deformation processes of the sheet-bulk metal forming.
