A7 - Dynamic Process Forces

Improvement of Combined Cutting and Deep Drawing Processes by Means of Overlaying Dynamic Process Forces

Project Status: finished

Last Update: 12.01.2021

Members

In the third phase, the project A7 will focus on a holistic view of the process chain for the production of sheet metal formed components. First, the production of components with high functional surface quality and the influence of friction during superimposed oscillated forming will be investigated. The utilization of the components is to be analyzed on the basis of the effects of tool wear on the component quality as well as within the scope of investigations on the residual forming capacity of components produced superimposed oscillated. As a result, the following sub-goals will be derived:

   - Basic tests on the influence of oscillation parameters on friction and surface quality by means of ring compression tests
   - Transfer of the identified oscillation parameters to the process for the production of sheet metal formed components with high surface quality and functionality
   - Observation of tool wear during the production of sheet metal formed components
   - Identification of the residual deformation capacity of oscillation-free and superimposed oscillated formed components in order to be able to make statements about the application area of the components
   - Validation of the developed methods on the superimposed oscillated SBMF process
